OUR APPROACH
The body is not separate from everyday life.
Regulation, sensory experience, relationships, and occupation are deeply connected. That is why our approach goes beyond simply collecting more nervous system tools or regulation strategies.
We pay attention to what is happening in the body while keeping a meaningful end in mind. What does this person want to be able to do? Experience or participate in?
From there, we can explore regulation through relationship: sensory experience, movement, awareness, and everyday occupation.
This is the foundation of Embodied OT - bringing the body, the nervous system, and meaningful occupation back into the same conversation.
MEET SARITA
Occupational therapy that begins with the person, not just the problem.
I'm Sarita Sloane, an occupational therapist, educator, and yoga teacher with 28+ years of experience.
Over the years, my work has increasingly brought me back to one idea:
Lasting change happens when we understand the person as a whole. The nervous system matters. The body matters. Relationships matter. And so does the life the person wants to participate in.
My work brings these pieces together through occupational therapy. Somatic and sensory approaches, mindfulness, movement, and therapeutic relationship.
